TeBeVat uses the same definition for knowledge as ESCO and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). According to this, "knowledge means the outcome of the assimilation of information through learning. Knowledge is the body of facts, principles, theories and practices that is related to a field of work or study."

The knowledge is underpinning the skills, in other words the skills are the application of knowledge.

Notes

There is a difference between:

  • basic knowledge (giving context)

  • knowledge (a good understanding), and

  • profound knowledge (in depth theoretical knowledge)
